H&M is collaborating with luxury designer Lanvin for a collection to hit stores November 23. The designs will come from Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver.
“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less,” said Elbaz. “I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.”
The collection will be available in approximately 200 H&M stores worldwide.
H&M creative advisor, Margareta van den Bosch, also expressed excitement about the collaboration, ”We are thrilled about Lanvin’s collection for H&M…Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful.”
Past designer collaborations include Karl Largerfeld, Stella McCartney, Sonia Rykiel and Comme des Garcons. Now that Lanvin is on board, we should expect to see their signature ribbons and bows and pearls for this cut-price collection.
